Woodbridge is situated 43 kilometres south of Hobart, and has developed into a dormitory suburb of the city. A School of Marine Studies has been established here allowing school children to study many aspects of marine biology. Boat launching ramps and a range of holiday accommodation facilities are offered to visitors to the town.
Hartzview Vineyard is open to visitors from 10am until 5pm daily during the months from October to May. For the remainder of the year, it is open on the weekend or by appointment. You will be able to sample Pinot Noir, Chardonnay (of both the wooded and non-wooded varieties), Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Semillon, Fruit Ports, Liqueurs and Mead. The Woodbridge Hill Handweaving Studio is set in beautiful gardens with stunning views of the Channel. The specialty at this studio is handspun wool and mohair, which is woven into all sorts of wonderful garments - shawls, cushion covers, bags, mats, floor rugs and much more.
