Waroona is located in the agricultural region of the south west near the towns of Yarloop and Pinjarra.


Yalgorup National Park is close by the town and can be reached by following the Preston Beach road. A myriad of bush walking trails await to take the visitor past lake shores and stands of Tuart trees.

The lakes, Lake Preston and Clifton are highly saline and are home to a wide variety of native and migratory bird species.

Preston Beach is an ideal fishing and swimming beach en route to the Yalgorup National Park. Drakesbrook Weir is used as a reservoir for local irrigation and recreation .Waroona Dam is a popular power boating, fishing and waterskiing venue.

In town, Bonny's Garden Centre has a replica of the Sydney Harbour Bridge, an exhibition glasshouse and a wide variety of plants for visitors to enjoy.
