Tyenna is a hamlet on the Tyenna River, situated only a few kilometres from Maydena and National Park in southern Tasmania. The inhabitants of the area are primarily farmers, and the area is surrounded by lush green pastures.

As Tyenna lies between the Mount Field and Southwest National Parks, the area has many of the characteristics of a National Park or State Forest area.
