The Trevallyn State Recreation Area has lots to offer visitors to the area. It covers a total of 450 hectares and takes in all sorts of natural aspects - eucalypt forest, lake and river, and it is only six kilometres from Launceston, with road access via Reatta Road.

The Deadmans Knob Nature Trail is an interesting and informative way of learning about the surrounding natural features. There is a bushwalk from Deadmans Hollow to Aquatic Point which will take you past the Trevallyn Dam. You can also horse ride or partake in archery.

Camping is not allowed in the park. There are toilets with wheelchair facilities, barbecues and drinking water available at Aquatic point and by the village green.

Other barbecue facilities are to be found at Honeymoon Bay. There is also a carpark and visitor information at Aquatic point. The Recreation Area is open from 8am until dusk every day.
