from 'OZpedia the Free Guide'

Three Springs is located east of Carnamah in the midland region of Western Australia and is the site of the first talc mine in the State. The talc is mined open cut and exported for use in the ceramics industry. Lieutenant George Grey was one of the first Europeans to travel through the area in 1839 on an expedition north to the Chapman Valley.

The Talc Mine is open for tours every weekday from 2-3pm. Visitors can observe the open cut mining techniques and view other processes at the mine.

The Arrowsmith River north of Three Springs is an ideal picnic spot, the tranquil water and shady river gum stands soothe and refresh the tired traveller. A wildflower Rest Area on the outskirts of the town has a heritage path which leads visitors through a wildflower paradise. Tourist information on the Wildflower Drives and other attractions are available here also.
