The Arve River Picnic Area has - as the name would suggest - a picnic area and barbecue facilities. It is a popular spot for locals and visitors alike, and has easy access to the Arve River. This spot has all of the advantages of being 'deep' within the forest, but is still only a short drive from Geeveston, and many visitors to the area only venture this far into the forest. The water in the river is fresh and clean, and it is recommended that you take advantage of it, and fill your water bottles for a refreshing break throughout the rest of your journey.
