Impressions Gallery is a privately owned business which has operated for over ten years, starting from a small outlet featuring what would be classified as low quality craft and developed over the years into now what many regard as not only Tasmania's finest quality craft gallery, but also one of the best Australia wide.

In a location encompassing over 300 square metres of display space more than 8,000 individually handcrafted high quality Tasmanian made gift items are available to choose from.

The main emphasis of the Gallery is on Tasmania's world class and unique timbers, particularly Black Heart Sassafras, Myrtle, Blackwood and of course Huon Pine which is found only in Tasmania, its slow growth resulting in many pieces of craft timber being over 500 years old and some up to 2,000 years old.

Major display space is also given to fine Tasmanian pottery from a number of Tasmania's leading potters. Other craft areas covered are leather, silk, glass, fragrances, jewellery, toys, folk art and furniture - mainly coffee tables.

We have also developed a fine packaged Tasmanian gourmet food section and have a large range of Tasmanian original oil paintings, prints, posters, cards, videos, books and general souvenir lines such as soft toys, key rings, magnets etc.

Our business philosophy is to offer excellence in quality Tasmanian products at below general retail market prices elsewhere around the state. An additional service offered is packing and postage of items up to 20kg, either interstate or overseas.

Impressions Gallery is located in the Showcase of Devonport, which also houses a coffee shop and the Tasmanian Visitor Information Centre which has recently relocated to the building.

The Gallery is open 7 days a week, from 9am to 5.30pm Monday to Saturday and from 9am to 5pm on Sunday (closed on Christmas Day). The coffee shop is also open 7 days from 9am to 5pm. The Gallery can be opened after hours by appointment for groups only.
