from 'OZpedia the Free Guide'

This area has become the State's premier wine making district in the last ten years, and has quickly become renowned for producing some of the finest vintages in Australia, despite their relative "inexperience" in wine making terms. Attractions in the area include an historic cemetery in Pipers River, and visitors can indulge in trail riding and cross country motor biking in a reserve near the town. Tennis can also be played in the town.

Rochecombe Vineyard welcomes visitors to come and sample some of their wines - Chenin Blanc, Riesling, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir, Pinot Rose and Cabernets. There are guided tours at 10am, 11am, 3pm and 4pm. Opening hours are from 10am until 5pm every day. There have been significant developments around the vineyard recently, including construction of two dams to ensure a constant supply of water year round, and the addition of a nursery greenhouse to allow the on-site development of the vines. The restaurant has also recently been refurbished, and a playground added to entertain the younger folk. Phone (003)82 7122 for further information.
