Mawbanna lies to the south of Port Latta in the north west region of Tasmania.

Mawbanna Recreation Area is a relatively large area of forest. There are kilometres of tracks ideal for both horse riding and biking. Indeed, the northern section of the Recreation Area is specifically set aside for horse riding and has a corral and loading area.
