This is the oldest standing building in the city, dating back to 1816. It was named after John Cadman, the last superintendent of Government craft. Cadman had been transported to Sydney Cove from England for stealing a horse. He was pardoned in 1821 and married in 1830, living with his family at the cottage for some time after this. Today it is home to the NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service's city information centre and shop.
