Leeman is located on the central west coast of Western Australia, north of Jurien and is a popular destination for boating fanatics and fishermen who make full use of the glorious waters. The town was named after Dutch navigator Abraham Leeman van Santwits, crew member of the Waeckende Boey, a ship sent to rescue survivors of the shipwrecked Vergulde Draeck(Gilt Dragon) which was lost off Western Australia in 1656.

\Attractions
East of the town is the Stockyard Gully National Park, an ideal venue for 4 wheel driving and exploration on foot of the underground and overground river system and surrounding bushland.

A freshwater lake, Lake Indoon, which has become a popular water sports venue for people of all ages. The Lake lies a few kilometres east of Leeman.
