Jurien, Western Australia : Main Article
Jurien is located on the central west coast of Western Australia, north of Cervantes and is one of the major boating centres in the State. The town boasts an ultra modern boat harbour, the only one of it's type between Perth and Geraldton.
Visitors will enjoy the boating facilities offered at Jurien. Spectacular ocean views can be enjoyed at nearby Greenhead and all sorts of marine life can be examined at Pebbly Beach. Nearby Fisherman's Islands is home to a large seal population, some of whom can be seen frolicking in the offshore waters.
Lions Lookout afford superb views of the town and the oceanscape. Cockleshell Gully to the north of Jurien is renown for it's amazing diversity of plant and animal life. This is thought to be due to the convergence of three different botanical districts in the area.
Stockyard Gully National Park was named after one of the stop overs used by drovers as they herded their livestock through the area. The Park is accessible by 4WD only and guided tours can be arranged from Jurien.
The Old Jetty area was once used to transport wool and stock to Fremantle and India. Today it is an ideal picnic and BBQ area.
