from 'OZpedia the Free Guide'

Jervis Bay is characterised by almost continuous sandy beaches, with Hyams Beach having reputedly the whitest sand of any beach in the whole world. Scuba-diving, swimming, sailing, fishing and surfing are all popular pursuits here.

Jervis Bay National Park

The National Park has a number of areas of interest. The main one is the Naval College, HMAS Creswell, that has a display of items specifically related to the Jervis Bay area and the Naval college, and includes a collection of model ships. The National Park itself contains several camping areas and unspoilt beaches and walks. Highlights include the now defunct Cape St George Lighthouse on Murrays Beach, and the picturesque Greenpatch camping and picnicking area. The Botanic Gardens Annexe is a particular delight for plant enthusiasts as it contains an extensive collection of native Australian flora. Penguin and Dolphin watching cruises may be undertaken around Jervis Bay.
