from 'OZpedia the Free Guide'

The Scotts Peak Road starts at the 19 mile (30 kilometre) point on the Gordon Road, and travels generally south. It was constructed by the Hydro-Electric Commission to provide access to Edgar and Scotts Peak dam sites. The road ends at a lookout past Scotts Peak Dam, and from this lookout there is probably the best panoramic view of the South-West that is easily accessible to cars.

The gravel road is 23 miles (38 kilometres) long, and has a pavement width of 18 feet (5.5 metres). Construction was started in September 1967, and the road was completed at the end of 1969. During the latter part of this time work ceased on the road whilst the road to Serpentine Dam was constructed.
