Grove, Tasmania : Main Article
Grove is located in the Huon Valley region of southern Tasmania, and is a short drive from the nearby settlements of Huonville, Glen Huon and Ranelagh.
The town is perhaps best known for its Huon Valley Apple and Heritage Museum. The museum depicts the history of fruit growing and the lives of the orchardists in the area. An exhibition of apple carving and other skills often take place daily, or can be arranged for group visits. Over 500 varieties of apples are on display, as well as restored fully operational machines and a pictorial history of the area. The Museum is open from 9am to 5pm in the Summer, 10am to 4pm in Winter and is closed during July. It is located at RSD 2065 main Road in Grove.
Visitors can enjoy a range of delicious apple homebaked products and other Tasmanian specialities at various teahouses and cafes in the area, such as Susan's Country Cupboard and the Apple Valley Teahouse.
Visitors are welcome to watch the potter at work and browse through the extensive collection of fine earthenware products at Tahune Pottery. There is a great range of stoneware and terracotta pots for sale.
