A bustling port was sited here until the Forth River began to silt up, thus the port area was moved to Devonport. Today dairy farms, poppy and potato crops are produced in the area.

Many historic cemeteries can be visited in the area to get an idea of the kind of people who resided in the region. The Forth River is ideal for fishing and relaxing by. Improve your game of golf by practicing at the Forth Driving Range. Browse through the many stalls of bric-a-brac, local arts and crafts and produce at the Forth Markets held every Sunday at Forth Hall.
