from 'OZpedia the Free Guide'

Dundas is today a ghost town situated 10 kilometres from Zeehan on the west coast of Tasmania, and had its heyday during the silver mining boom in Zeehan. The first record of activity in the town area was in 1882 following the discovery of galena in neighbouring Zeehan.

The first claim was staked in 1886 by G. Tambie. In 1891 the town had a population of 1,080 people, most of whom were involved in the working of the small mines which surrounded the town. Today Dundas is deserted, with only a few relics as a reminder of the town's past.
