Cradle Mountain is located on the northern end of the Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park, and is a major recreational area and accommodation base for tourists wishing to explore the majestic sights of the Park.


Natural Attractions

Cradle Mountain is the gateway to the World Heritage area of Lake St Clair and the Cradle Mountain National Park. Bushwalkers wishing to trek into the World Heritage Area from the north should register with the rangers at the Station located at Waldheim.

Guides are available for various activities in the park, such as bushwalking, climbing and fishing.

The town of Waratah is a short drive west, and visitors taking the road from Waratah to Burnie will be rewarded with unbelievable sights and scenery as they pass through the Cradle Mountain area.

Other Attractions

Visitors may explore the surrounds by embarking on bushwalks encompassing alpine flora and fauna. Canoeing, horse riding, abseiling and cross country skiing in winter are other activities in the area to keep visitors occupied. Scenic flights may be arranged by contacting Seair Adventures.
