from 'OZpedia the Free Guide'

Bolgart is located 60 kilometres north of Toodyay and is sited near a natural spring. Bolgart comes from the Aboriginal word "bullgert" meaning magic swamp place.

Located between the town and nearby Calingiri, the Wyening Mission was built in 1890 to serve as an outpost for the Mission at New Norcia and can be admired by visitors. The nearby winery is a classic example of a stone building fashioned from local rock. Tours of the mission can be made by appointment by contacting 096 - 54 8050 or 09 - 28 1004.
