This is a small coastal village, located 11 kilometres to the north of St Helens in north eastern Tasmania. The village has a strong maritime tradition, reinforced by the myriad of fishing boats which represent the livelihoods of many of the residents of Binalong Bay.


The nearby Humbug Point State Recreation Area has numerous sheltered beaches, camping facilities, picnic areas and walking tracks to interest bushwalkers, wildlife enthusiasts, surfers and swimmers alike. Excellent rock fishing opportunities abound in the bay area.
