Beauty Point is a popular fishing and aquatic sports town on the banks of the Tamar River in northern Tasmania, 48 kilometres from Launceston. Today the town is the site for the Australian Maritime College, founded in 1980 - a practical centre where courses on seamanship and fisheries are taught. A complex housing 100 students is located nearby. A favourite haunt of sailors and fishermen, there is a strong connection to the sea in this town.

Enjoy the scenic splendour of the views from the picnic area on the Esplanade at Beauty Point, or hire a boat or dinghy from Beauty Point Marina and explore the inlets and waterways surrounding the area. Play a round of golf at nearby Greens Beach. Facilities include a Bowling Club and Yacht Club. Enjoy the lovely sights and smells of the fragrant Geranium House, or spend a day or two visiting the nearby Asbestos Range National Park.

Also to be found in Beauty Point is the largest Teddy Bear in the world ! This fibreglass landmark can be found at the Tassie Teddy Bear Fantasy Gardens, which also have tearooms and a play area for the children. Take advantage of the barbecue facilities, or just wander through the gardens enjoying the wildlife.
