The aptly named suburb of Beauty Point occupies a promontory of Middle Harbour, within the municipality of Mosman. The diverse views afforded by its harbour side aspect inspired the naming of Beauty Point. No doubt the subdivider who renamed it from Billygoat's Point, was also inspired in the interests of profitability. Residential development accompanied the spanning of Middle Cove by the original Spit Bridge of 1924, and the locality has continued to charm its occupants ever since.
