There are many fun theme parks within easy reach of Brisbane. These include Dreamworld, Warner Bros. Movie World, Wet 'n' Wild and Seaworld, which is one of Australia's largest theme parks.

The colourful and bustling markets at South Bank Parklands and Eagle Street take place at the weekends (although the former is open on a Friday 17.00 - 22.00). They have an impressive selection of pottery and paintings, jewellery and clothes and woodwork and furniture.

Festivals in Brisbane include the Festival of Flowers in March and the Warana Festival in September. Other annual events are Heritage Week in April and the Brisbane Exhibition, known as the 'Ekka', which is held in August.
