Extensive beaches and thunderous surf provide dramatic scenes on Tasmania's rugged north west coast. Much of this reserve is inaccessible to vehicles; however, camping areas, drinking water, fishing and boating facilities are available at the northern end. Dogs are allowed if kept under control. At the southern end of the area the Pieman River State Reserve can be found.

The area is a total of 96,950 hectares in size, and facilities include :

Boat Ramp Bushwalking
Camping Caravan Access
Disabled Access Fishing
Horse Riding Picnic Area
Ranger Patrol Swimming
Toilets
