from 'OZpedia the Free Guide'

Allambie and Allambie Heights are residential suburbs of the Warringah Shire. Allambie was named by its original Aboriginal inhabitants, and is believed to mean "a peaceful place". Inspiration for this name abounds in this northern suburb, whose aspect affords unhindered views of the Pacific. Although conceived with a subdivision of 1918, the architectural style of its comfortable houses are evidence of the suburb's development during the post war boom.
